Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Bill, 2018  passed

Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Bill, 2018 were passed on August 09, 2018 in Parliament. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Bill passed on August 6, 2018 in Lok Sabha.

Before lodging an FIR, Section 18A has been included in it to eliminate the need to conduct initial scrutiny or obtain approval from any officer before the arrest of any accused and to restore the provisions of Section 18 of the Act.

 

SEBI recommends giving right to tap the telephone conversation

A committee constituted by SEBI has made several important recommendations to make the working of this market regulatory body sharp. Vishwanathan Committee has said that SEBI should seek the right to hear calls for assistance in investigations and fraud and fraud in companies Other regulations should be protected from penalties of employees who violate the breaches.

The Committee, headed by former Law Secretary and former Lok Sabha Secretary General TK Vishwanathan, has suggested a number of changes in the rules related to market fraud, discrimination, monitoring and investigation. Also, the Whistle Blower Policy (internal piercing policy) is recommended in the listed companies.

August Revolution Day Celebrated

August Kranti Divas is celebrated every year on August 09 in India. Different programs are organized on this occasion and the famous Quit India Movement is remembered as the last fight of freedom struggle.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to those who participated in the Quit India Movement of 1942 and said that Mahatma Gandhi could bring the founding of imperialist rule through that movement and this gave greater strength to India’s freedom struggle.

Delhi High Court :  begging now out of the crime category

The Delhi High Court has made  begging out of the crime category on 08 August 2018 in the national capital. The High Court said that the provision to punish people for this work is unconstitutional and it should be canceled. The High Court, while hearing a PIL, said that begging will no longer be a crime.

The High Court’s Executive Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C. Hari Shankar’s bench heard the matter. The Delhi High Court said that after considering the experience based on the social and economic aspect of this matter, the Delhi government is free to bring alternative laws to control the gangs who are begging.

World Bio-fuel day celebrated on August 10

Bio-fuel day worldwide was celebrated on August 10, 2018. For the last three years, the Ministry of Oil and Natural Gas is organizing world bio fuel day.

By increasing the bio fuel options, the government can significantly reduce the import bill of crude. The Government of India is working to raise the standard of life of all the people of the country including the village, the rural people, in such a way, the bio fuel will be beneficial for the country as well as the environment.
