For this, any account holder can apply in the concerned branch. In this regard, SBI has issued advisory.
Indeed, account holders located in SBI’s metro city, it is mandatory to have three thousand, urban account holders to two thousand and rural account holders to have a minimum balance of one thousand rupees. In the event of failure to do this, the bank charges the penalty from the concerned account holders.
SBI sources said that in this financial year 2017-18, SBI has collected about 250 crore rupees from Kanpur in the country through penalties through penalties. At the same time the bank has sent an advisory in the first week of August to protect its account holders from such penalty.
It states that if an account holder is not able to keep the minimum balance in his account, he can transfer his account to the Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD). For this, he has to go to the concerned branch and give a request letter.
After the change of account in BSBD, all the services like ATM Card, Net Banking, SMS or Mobile Banking will continue to be available.
