Punjab Election 2018 for 150 Panchayat Samities and 22 Zila Parishad in Punjab have been announced. For this, the votes will be held on 19th September and results will be announced on September 22.
Paper filling date is announced on September 4 and the last date for filing paper will be September 7. The Monday paper will be scrutinized on September 10, and September 11 will be a paper withdrawal. On that day candidates will be given an election symbol. Punjab Election Commissioner Jagpal Singh Sandhu said that the last date for filing nomination papers for the elections is September 7.
The announcement of these elections has resulted in code of conduct in the state. Sandhu said that the Punjab government has decided to give reservation to women in the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections this time.
A total of 1,27,87,395 people will exercise their democratic rights during these elections, including 66,88,245 males and 60,99,053 females and 97 third penis.
For conducting elections of Zila Parishad on Panchayat Samiti, 17,268 polling booths will be set up and 86,340 employees will be deployed to complete the election process.
The Election Commission has the right to spend Rs 1.90 lakh on the candidates for the election of Block Samiti candidates and 80,000 candidates for the Zila Parishad elections.
